On Monday, September 24, 2007, Adam Aptowitzer will be speaking at an Estate Planning Seminar sponsored by CNIB, the Canadian War Museum, the National Arts Centre Foundation, the Ottawa Humane Society, the Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre Foundation, Saint Paul University and The Ottawa Mission. The topic of Adam’s presentation will be "Use It or Lose It – How to Extract Value from Donations."
The seminar, which runs from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm, will be held at the Canadian War Museum, located at 1 Vimy Place.

Galway, in Almonte Ontario. We will be taking over his offices and retaining

Arthur Drache will participate in two panels at the Global Forum on Civil
Society which is being held in Istanbul, Turkey. He will be on a panel dealing
with "Law and Indigenous People" in which he brings his experience
with regard to his work with the Inuit and First Nations and on a second panel
which deals with the issue of what is meant by "public benefit"
in the context of drafting legislation in countries which are attempting to
develop legislation dealing with an emerging civil society.

Adam has been practicing tax law since graduating from the University of Ottawa
law school. He completed his articles at a tax litigation boutique firm in

On July 8 Arthur Drache was named Chair of the International Center for Not-For-Profit
Law, a Washington based NGO which assists governments and the third sector
(voluntary sector) to develop legal frameworks in emerging democracies for
the establishment of civil society. Drache was also named to the Board after
a one-year absence required by term limits.
He succeeds Richard Fries, the former Chair of the Charities Commission of
England and Wales as the chair of ICNL. More information about the organization
